Nail to Nail (N2N) Fingerprint Scanner was developed under Cornell SonicMEMS lab as an entry for IARPA N2N Fingerprint Challenge 2017. Our system is a non-contact optical fingerprint scanner capable for collecting and processing the nail-to-nail fingerprint of each finger under 5 seconds. We were the finalist and the winner of Print Provider Prize and Master Builder Prize.
I was the initial contributor and team captain for this project, which first started as my individual project, but became a team effort as we entered later stage of the challenge.
My contribution includes overall system design (electrical and mechanical), system build, stage II software development, and team coordination.
This scanner acquires the 180 deg video of finger using a digital microscope. This video is then processed to generate fingerprint images.
